A little history about my LT10/36. I bought it at an auction about 2 years ago. It had been sitting in a warehouse, all tires were flat, and although I didn't know it at the time of purchase, the top half of the transmission was missing! I gave $50 for it. After I got it home, I started checking it out and that's when I found it was missing part of the tranny. Luckily, there is a big mower salvage close to where I live. Mike (the owner) really knows his stuff and happened to have a couple of LT10/36's like mine. He had 1 tranny left so I got it. Cost more than I paid for the mower! During the last year, I would work a little on it now and then, but I knew I was needing a new engine so I didn't do much to it. Just recently, my father in-law gave me a Craftsman mower that had some mowing problems but the engine was in great shape. I NOW HAVE AN ENGINE!! Now things are starting to move along. My little LT is totally apart now as you can see by the pictures above, and I'm getting ready to begin the process of putting everything together.
The first picture (top left) is the mower my father-in-law gave me. Notice the big hole where the engine used to be. My father in-law and I spent 2 days with a little help from my wifes cousin, cutting out the motor mounting platform and putting it into place on my LT (see picture top right) so the new engine would bolt up. Still have some manufacturing to do to put in the fuel tank and battery holder.
Next step is to clean and paint the frame work and wheels. Frame should be black while the rest of the mower will be a darker red. Pictures to follow as project progresses.
